suzanne Guest | Ive just bought a laptop with a dual layer DVD Recorder and am looking for some info on burning dvd’s as im not very clued up on this kind of thing. As i understand from browsing around my DVD creater on my laptop, DvD’s which are playable in a normal DVD player contain .ifo, .bup and .vbo files correct? But i also understand you cannot download movies/videos etc in that format, they are usually .avi or .mpg files or such like. Could anyone tell me how to convert these files so that i can burn a DVD or tell me in any way what to do to make a playable DVD. Any help appreciated thanks.

Professor DVD Guest | I recommend you ALSO visit the awesome sites labish posted in this topic. Sure, it’s convenient and easy to just click a button and presto - A DVD! But you will definitely run into more than a few files that royally stump you and you’ll be back here asking for more help. I believe in a preventative tactic, meaning that you bone up on the different methods available to make DVD’s and/or solve your own problems. Trust me, encoding DVD hands-on and from scratch yield WAY much better results than the 1-click programs.
