ahmad Guest | Does anyone know about *.m2v format? I downloaded couple of songs from emule with that format. But I can’t seem to play it.
How do I check what codec do I need to play a videl file. I have this mpeg video and I cant play it with any of my media player. can someone help me on this?
Ive got a total of 3.12GB files that I cant play.

ahmad Guest | by the way, i tried to play the files with divx player but it only says bad avi or mpeg file...

I think .m2v is MPEG2 video files. Try rename the files to end in .MPG or .MPEG and see if any media player can play them (ms media player may need some extensions).
You do not need to register on this forum. It’s one of its strengths and weaknesses :-) No registration: more people post and more open discussions. However, also more bullshit posted.

ahmad Guest | nope nevermind... i’ll just delete the files. im running out of disk space fast! do you have any suggestion of media player that i can use? i only have windows media player and divx player and im running on xp... thanx...

I have a silly rank Rep: 41  Joined: 03 Nov 2003 Posts: 1,276 | Divx player and media player is fine. It does not really matter that much which player you use. I, for instance, only use media player version 6.4~. What matters is which codecs you have installed :-)

EezaGoldfish Guest | Think the m2v format (mpeg2) is created from software TMPG see(http://www.doom9.org/mpg/tmpg-dvdencoding.htm), a dvd encoder. I play mine using msi dvd. Seems fine.
