Interrupted video recording

Problem: I was making a video with my webcam. Afterwards, the cam froze. I think it was in the process of encoding the video, I’m not certain. I do know that the video won’t play. The players won’t recognize it as a proper avi file. It was supposed to encode as a DivX 5.2.1 file.

Does anyone know a way I can fix this file? Or do I have a gig of garbage data now?

Chances are the file headers weren’t written. See my post in thread 8907.
