Drax Guest | ok, so I’ve been having trouble with playing mkv files on my pc. No matter what codec pack/splitter i use, or even player(ive tried mpc, zoom, wpm10, and VLC mp), i’m not getting any video output. Audio plays fine, and the files run perfectly on my brothers pc, with the same codec. anyone know what the problem could be?
any help is greatly appreciated

gigipdx Guest | Thanks for the info on Zoom Player. I have been going crazy with all these converters and Zoom Player did the job.

Benny82 Guest | I have been playing Mkv files to watch anime. the problem that i have been having is that, the video tend to get slower that the audio or even worse, the video does not changes at all. it is stuck. I played it using MPC and downloaded the latest K-lite mega codec pack and i believe for mkv it uses Haali media splitter. any suggestion?? very irritating.

Ashleysmashley Guest | Woooo! I figured out how to make this silly file extension play! I was having the same problem a lot of you were having, I installed everything and tried different media players, etc. but the video was still slow and laggy. Using the zoom media player, go into options/setup, and go to player thread priority. Mine was on “normal” initially but I changed it to “realtime” and then the video playback was no longer lagging. I apologize if someone has already mentioned this or if it seems intuitive but I just wanted to share what worked for me!

Guddu Guest | Go to this site and you can download the Combined community codec pack. And play the matroska video file (.mkv)

Vanny Guest | Ma video files are not playing well, am told Codecs acquired and the pictures are turned upside down in a wrong format.what codec can be used to change the formats to a good one?

DJL Guest | I agree... mkv must be the worst format ever. Some act as though you just need this or that...but every new computer I try to run mkv files on has some issue. I give it the worst codec ever award.
