Anyone know of a codec that would help me play a movie that keeps coming up with this message or how to get rid of it? Error# C00D11CD

I did the following (maybe the sequence is important) to play mp3’s:
1) Install the latest wmplayer (9) - no help
2) Switch to version before (6...) (Start - Run - mplayer2) and open a mp3 - worked
3) click on a mp3 in explorer - wmplayer (9) comes up with same error - disable all formats (mp3, wma, ...)
4) start old version again and enable all formats
5) old version now comes up by click on a mp3 - and works correctly
6) reinstall wmplayer (9) again: NOW IT WORKS

For all of the people who are having troble viewing .avi files because the codecs are not installed and are receiving a message of Error:C00D11CD, this is what you have to do:
go to www.divx.com/divx/ and download the free version of the divxplayer. After it is installed, play the .avi file once with the divxplayer and the codec will be automatically installed. Now you can enjoy watching it with media player or any other player.

I was fed up with this problem and as I found DivX a good program for viewing films I downloaded their pay (no ads) program and the films now work ok. DivX must have built in codecs for this. The program is about 19 dollars US and is well worth buying
