annoying alarm when audio/video program loads

hello. i have this problem that i just can’t figure out and i was wondering if anyone has come across the same issue...and perhaps a solution.

i have various audio/video programs and tools installed...to name a few: DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, various codecs, windows media, winamp, powerdvd, etc...and whenever a audio/video program opens, i have a horrible annoying alarm that sounds through the desktop speakers until the program is closed.

at first i thought it might be an add-on program attached to a codec pack that has to do with a/v sync...but i still cannot figure which it might be...

anyways....if anyone has any suggestions, your help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
