gt codec and avi file

Hallo there,

I just downloaded a movie from Suprnova and windows media player says “didn’t find codec”. So the movie plays but there’s no picture or sound.
when I check the file there’s something about a gt codec. What is that and how can I download it?
Which player do I need? Divx player doesn’t work...
Please help and tel me what I have to do (I’m not an expert...).

Try VideoLan at www.videolan.org It’s a player not a codec (which is what you asked for)but give it a go. Try their latest version, it’s free and better than Real Player or Media Player put together. It seems to work on everything even films that haven’t downloaded fully (although you need a few MB’s for it to work). Get in touch if you need any help. Hope this helps...
