I have tried everything too.. I have a Mac 10.6.7 OSX, and am using VLC 1.1.9. The movie plays just fine, but the subtitles (even with the same name as the movie and the extension off), does not work. It seems to load okay, but doesn’t work. >:(
I can’t get newer versions to display subs either. But for some reason, vlc 1.0.5 works for me and displays subtitles. I’m not a programmer, so I don’t know why.
i have done all the above but cant get subtitles in english, whats the code or what should i do? pleaseee
Just another aspect: my experience is that it counts which font you choose for the subtitles. I tried everything to make subtitles appear, reinstalled every program and nothing helped. Then, as a last resort, I changed the font to another and voilá.
To Pingors,
Since Toast doesn’t support soft subtitle, then use the software to burn subtitles to video content, becoming a permanent subtitle. nowadays many devices doesn’t accept software subtitle.
