*looked up ssa files and found this* I already had VLC and didn’t know it. This appears to be working beautifully now, once I figured out where the heck to browse for subtitles. XD Thank you for eternity, Marcus Aurelius! <3 reply

I tried everything but I can’t charge the sub of my movie ( : Macroos -Flash Back 2012 (1987)/ sub file :MCROSMV2.ssa ). I’m mortified and so frustrated. Pls Help!.
I tried :
VLC with Marcus' technique. the process is clear but doesn’t work for me.
Real player but it seems that you can’t charge the subtitle track (if someone knows.). Maybe it’s automatic, same folder as the avi file, but it doesn’t work.
Windows Media Player : some of you said to use Vobsub. How does it work?. Is it automatic lunch or something?.
Finally, I’ve tried VirtuDub. Same, guys said. use it!...but they don’t tell you how?. VirtuDub is a movie reader right?. how to uploard my sub. file. then?.
Sorry I’m not good at computer stuff. I guess I’m not the only one.
So, if someone could help me (us) by clear solution. thanks a lot in advance. Then Macross legacy may continue... reply

Mosserie and Undisputed - I think I have solution to ur problem.

Mosserie - I don’t understand what your trying to ask. Do you want to insert subtitles in a movie or remove them?

Undisputed - What you can do is Convert the .ogm video with the .ssa file. Like that it will be what we technicians call it “Hardcoded” into the video meaning that you cannot remove it. It is permanent.

1. So what you have to do is get a Program called Avs Video Converter 6
2. Install it
3. Then you need to convert the .ssa file into a .srt file.Follow this guide - http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_subtitles_from_ssa_to_srt.cfm
4. When you have the .srt and the.ogm together, name them the same for example like this - Thedarknight.ogm and Thedarknight.srt
5. Then open Avs Video Converter 6.
6. Open Thedarknight.ogm(the .srt file will not show up)
7. Then click on Advanced and all the way at the bottom there is a way to insert a subtitle track.

8. Then convert it to .ogm and you have a .ogm file for your iphone and it has “hardcoded” subtitles.

Thats it and your done!!
