My Advice is to get VLC out of your life for video-editing and use something more user-friendly, I reccomend Virtual Dub as it has every plugin you could imagen out there, Including a Subtitle Editor, VLC Is a very good programme but there is some things it just doesnt like, Macintosh is one of them (lol) Try VirtualDub I promise you wont be dissapointed reply

Hi, I’ve downloaded some anime that came with these extensions: ts.ssa and sc.ssa, and downloaded the VLC media player (onto a pc). But when I play the file (with or without the ssa file), the sound sounds like a scratched vinyl disc (all sratchy and broken) even though the image is fine. It plays fine in RealPlayer but then it doesn’t have the subtitles. Would anybody know what is wrong and how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! reply

haha Thanks so much for this! I’ve been trying to watch Attack No. 1 for about 3 months and couldn’t figure out how to work the subtitles. Sad that I already had everything I needed but didn’t know what to do with them... lol Thanks again! reply

How can I encode the .ssa subtitles into the avi file? I have used VirtualDubMod that comes with AutoGK to do it with .srt or .sub files. But when I try it with the .ssa, I dont see the subtitle text show up. I am using the TextSub 2.23 filter. reply

How would you burn the .ssa file -with the avi’s though? I havent finished d/ling the torrent yet though. Any programs to combine the same file....? Or is .ssa the video w/ it already subtittled and the .avi’s in the torrent only japanese? Im burning DBZ trying to show a friend the -big- difference between the americanized version and the real version. reply
