Help! How do I play an .ssa file along with .avi

Page 1 of 41 3 4 last »

So I downloaded a movie that is only in Japanese, and I have been waiting a LONG time to see the movie... BUT it came with an .ssa file, which I am assuming is the subtitle file. What do I use to play the subtitles along with the movie?

(Care to guess what the movie is? Heheh...) reply

VLC Videolan and BSplayer work with subtitle.Load the file besides avi and is going to work with both.
Here is a link to download the players: http://www.free-codecs.com/ reply

On VLC before you start playing the avi LOAD subs not rename so leave the files the way they come avi and whatever subtitle file.Open VLC go setting and preferences and click on subpictures checkmark on advanced option and browse the subtitles.Click OK and open your avi and play it.If you have any synch problems is a module called demux to delay the audio to fit the video but first make it working with subtitle. If you still have problems go here : http://www.videolan.org/doc/ and download the guide how to use VLC.Good Luck reply

Heyya, I got FFAC and I had a .ssa with it, and got the VLC to work with it, but the sound is static and scratchy, then cuts out after a few seconds.. If I don’t use the subtitles on WinPlayer, then I can hear the sounds fine. Anything I’m not doing right? reply

I found that VLC crashed when I tried to play the .avi (same one lol;) )

I’ve used VobSub and Media Player Classic (K lite codec pack MPC) and it works fine on my windows PC reply
