I use FLV to Video Converter Pro 2 to convert YouTube videos to AVI. Then imported it to Windows Movie Maker. Useful, if intereted, just have a try.

The file C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\My Videos\New Folder (3)\VID00002.AVI cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
I tried but it didnt work!!!!
PLZ HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The file C:\Users\JUSTIN\Desktop\Mass Media Influence on Today’s Society.mp4 cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

I need help with an .mp4, can somebody please please help me!

If you don’t have anything useful to add to the topic don’t post.

You’ve been warned.

Running Vista-64. Movie Maker happily imports AVI (obtained from Flip, playing fine in Windows Media Player). Then, the AVI in MOvie Maker has sound but no video. Already installed ffdshow (and chose the default options from the miriad I don’t understand). In Moview Maker tools->Options->Compatibility the only box is AVI Decompressor and it is checked already (fddshow does not show up there). Anu suggestions?
