Guys I love mpegstream - it saves me 99%, works - no ad ware, no shareware - amazing working free program. Those crazy Italians. Look for the dice. Saved me many times.

I use free mpeg streamclip to convert to .dv http://www.squared5.com/. I understand converting effects quality but when I used the “change file extension” method, I would get a lot of red {dropped} frames in premiere.

You have to seek converter software to convert MOD files to other video format

i just want to be able to have my video play on windows media and quick time ( preferably both ) , so that i can burn cds ( or dvd’s ) for friends and family and be able to have them play . along with moving clips to my pda ( blackberry ) to show.
the JVC quality is good ( as far as video cameras goes ) , the ability to play your video is the problem , there power director software sucks , and using it to convert is awful , and there tech support is worse.......
why do i have to buy software to view my video , it is like buying tires and having to pay for air for them.
i have a $80 helmet cam from Oregon Scientific , that works beautifully , no fuss....that is what i want from my JVC....

Here is a simple solution to those pesky .mod files: simply rename the .mod extension to .avi extension.

For my mod file conversion i generally use Mod converter Mac. This very software is particularly designed for the users of Mac. If you are an user of Mac OS then you should also try out this one it wi really work out efficiently for your MOD file convesion to acceptable Adobe premier. It will easily and efficiently convert Mod to avi, mpg, mpeg, wmv, vob etc formats. Convert MOD Files

I found that if u use the program that it came with and in premiere pro resize it so it is almost the same size as the screen, then export as quicktime file, its okay quality.

I think that the program that comes with it is a little lacking and slow, but once it has been converted and used in Premiere, what is the best format to use in the export?
