full movie not playing with 700 MB rar file

I downloaded a 700MB movie. It was in the rar (.r00, .r01, and so on - 50 files in total) format which I extracted using 7zip as .avi file..however, when I play the movie on VLC it only plays a 2min 23 sec preview and not the full movie.

How do iget to play the full movie...Windows Media plays the movie with garbled sound and no picture..div x says it cannot play the file..

Any help will be appreciated..Thanks
