Why does VLC work when Winamp doesn’t? Just interested.

Same problem here i tried about 5 media players none would work. I tried the VLC player it is great. I’m deleting the other players. Thanks guys!

I cant seem to figure out how to use VLC can someone break it down for me?

I have the same problem i have downloaded a video but no sound iv tried everything suggested on here and no luck can someone help.

Can anyone help me?
I loaded songs from my ipod to my computer using ephpod and I cant play them using itunes. I can play the MPEG 4 files, but not the MPEG layer 3 files. PLease help.

I get this message saying.I need mpeg1 player3 for divx player but i am tryin to get i-tunes working ,and the sound aint work,and it isnt playing,please could any1 help me on this.

Hi just to say i had the same problem using winamp and found that
downloading VLC the way forward, altho i found that re installing the fraunhoffer mp3 codec sorted the problem so now Winamp and all media players work fine. heres a link to a useful codec package.
