More Info:
DivX 5, 6, and 7 are a continuation of DivX 4, and are probably one of the two the most popular MPEG-4 (part 2) implementation today (the other one being Xvid).

DivX 5, 6, and 7 use the fourcc’s DIVX and DX50. DivX 4 also uses the fourcc DIVX. DivX 5, 6, and 7 can decode DivX 3 and DivX 4 contents. DivX 5 can also decode XviD contents (not always perfectly though). DivX 6 and 7 can decode XviD and 3ivx contents if generic MPEG-4 decoding is enabled.

DivX 7 is available for the PC. Mac users can get DivX 6 here.
Users of Windows 95, 98, or Me, won’t be able to run DivX 6 nor 7 on their system, but they can get DivX 5.2.1 here instead (get DivX 5.2.1 (not Pro) for Windows 98/ME).

Notes
- XviD, and 3ivx can decode DivX 5, 6 , and 7 contents.
