I want to append to this because I just encountered another post similar to what Yemeth posted http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/32992p1.html

You probably have the file installed, but not the proper registry information. Here’s the trick: find ir32_32.dll (be sure to do an advanced search and search inside system folders, and system and hidden files). Delete it. Then run install again.

(to Yemeth)
Did you abort the download because it said you had a newer version of some of the codecs? It will list which files are newer (this is to tell you it won’t overwrite them), and I’ll bet anything Indeo 3 wasn’t one of them. Re-run the install and run gspot on the file then tell us what you’re getting.

Started installing, but it said that i already have a newer version of indeo....
still that are some videos that require iv32 to be played...
what can be the problem?

I had the same problem, but the newer link worked. Thanks!

OK try this one instead.
http://www.morris.umn.edu/~joos/personal/game/MILO/iv5setup.exe
It’s a (slightly) more recent version (5.11 Ligos version) of Indeo than the other link (which was 5.11 Intel)
This is really weird, because I’ve never heard of anyone having problems with this. The only thing I can think of is if the download did not complete (make sure this one is exactly 2,068,266 bytes when you right click it when you’re done with the download). By the way do you have administrator privileges? And do you have DEP enabled? Read this thread http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/versions/knownissues.php (first bullet) and follow their instructions for the installation and see if anything changes.

Uninstalled n reinstall it again n make sure that no other codecs get in2 a conflict.

I waited more because I forgot I was installing and then when I checked back, the installation froze sad

Wait about 5 min before closing it. The install likes to scan the hd for previous installations of Indeo.

Is there another place I can download from?

I downloaded from that site and while installing, it stops at 7% and then my Task Manager said that it wasn’t responding sad
