WMP’s not very informative about MOV files. Try the steps here instead:

and report back. If you don’t have QuickTime, try MediaInfo.

When I was in Najaf, Iraq, I acquired this movie from a CNN reporter who was with us. I can get the audio to play, but no video. It is a .mov extension. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

P.S Windows Media Player says the audio codec is nero, but the video codec is unknown.
