Hello everyone, I’m noting that there’s a lot of poeple having problems with the mpeg layer-3 format. Why is that happening? isn’t it an mp3 format? I mean a common mp3. My DVD player plays every DIVx file, but it does not when the sound is encoded like mpeg layer-3, why? Should I convert the file to some other format? Is that possible without breaking the DIVx format?

I am download movie file to divx (because my dvd player plays divx “philips DVP-3166” but when i play the movie on my DVD player the sound is very very bad. what can i do to play this movie on my dvd player in good sound? audio format is “mpeg layer-3”
