I have a panasonic digital camera and copied the VHS video to DVD on my panasonic DVD recorder. When I downloaded the DVD onto my HP PC and tried to view the video on Microsoft Movie Maker, I got an eroor notice saying the “GI file in compatible."

First of all, what is a GI file? Secondly, how do I convert a GI file to MPeg2 file?

yea i need that also, because my digital camera takes videos and uses that codec, and only Quick time will play it, and it allways messes up the computer when i open that.
