Nero is good choice to burn a DVD, also some other programs may help you on dvd creating a lot.
To burn a DVD with higher quality, you may use a Double Layer DVD or you can split the video into two parts.

DVD movie is encoded by MPEG2 standard and contains .IFO, .VOB,.BUP files.
The .IFO files contain menus and other information about the video and audio. The .BUP files are backup copies of the .IFO files.
The .VOB file is just a specialized MPEG-2 file, most MPEG-2 decoders and players can play them.

I am a newbie at burning DVDs and just bought a DVD burner. I have a VOB file (actually 4 that are split) and want to burn it to a DVD using Nero Vision Express. I tried burning it twice but my DVD player would not read it? Is this possible?

Thanks !
