As for fixing films with out of synch audio, I usually do the following:
1. Using VirtualDubMod, save the audio stream as a WAV file.
2. Use Sound Forge to edit the WAV to match its timing with the video.
3. Then use VirtualDubMod to join the video with the newly edited audio.
This is just a summary, of course. But if you’re truly interested in this method, I can give you a more detailed instruction on what to do.
First, you would have to download VirtualDubMod:

Then, you would need Sony Sound Forge* or any other good audio editing software.
