why don’t you convert another files to avi files

Same problem here. Went into the graphics card settings and told it to allow the video application set the color instead of the video card.

After installing the new windows media player, it messed up all my settings, and everything was purple in colour. However, i went to the NVidea control panel (which i have never accessed in my life) and the HUE was set at 100%. I changed it down to 50% and now all is fine.

No idea why it happened, but it did so after updating WM player a few weeks back (May/June 2009)

this work for me. restore graphis adapter settings to defaults.......

“Hardware assisted Windows Media video” option will not show if your screen resolution is set somewhere around 1024x768, can only see it when scrolling down in “all settings” option in Video settings inside Catalyst Control Center.

Configuration of Windows Media Player solved the Problem:
Menu Tools/Options/Performance/Advanced...
Disable Option “Use Video Mixing Renderer”

Now adjust slider till videos work for me it was in the middle or there abouts.
