Where do you find DVDrop?

I am not very computer savvy but I recently purchased a Mac Book and I already had a JVC Everio 330 (which I have yet been able to download all my pics and videos from). I tried the software that came with it to put on my Dell using XP and it didn’t work. My neighbor had the same problem using XP also. I thought maybe now that I have the Mac it would be easier. I am glad to have found your thread but what I read was nearly impossible to understand, as I am NOT computer savvy. :) If you could email me and discuss this further I would be grateful.
Thanks so much,
Jennifer Summa

I have an everio JVC and a mac. What software can I download that is easy and works so that I can plug in my firewire from the video to the mac, click on “connect to pc device” on my video camera screen and voila! the movie downloads???? So frustrating. Can;t get the videos to download and have read all these blogs and still feel there isn’t a solution? Please help!

How do you “drag and drop” from the Everio HDD hard drive? The only options listed are “playback to PC, Backup, and create a disc”? Any files I transfer using backup (the only option that seems to work) does not end in mov, moi or anything familiar. I have DropDV and other converters loaded but can’t seem to get to the files on the camera. My iMovie is V6 and I’m using an older iMac with Power PC, not Intel. Any ideas?

I have downloaded the MPEG stream clip. connected my JVC....all i see are files that end in .moi or .tod, not sure which is the video. and when i drag on to streamclip, i just have a line across the screen, cannot see any video or hear anything. is there a trick to this conversion. It also says i do not have quicktime 2 something....?? help

I have a JVC-GZMS100 and a 13 in Macbook. I’ve been able to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the .MOD files to dv. MPEG Streamclip is great. I get to view the .MOD files before I spend precious hard drive space in conversion,
Once my files have been converted I am happily using them without any problem in iMovie '06. iSquint will convert those .MOD files to Mp4 files which work well on most cell phones. Hopes this helps.

Ive tried this using a program called Isquint. Its designed to convert any video file for playback on an Ipod. It works at converting files from my GZ-MG230U to MP4. But they seem pretty poor quality. Im not sure if this is due to the converting process or if the camera just takes pixelated video. Ive got everything set to the highest quality settings.
Just thought this was interesting information as the Isquint program is completely free.

I have an iMac running iMovie 09 and a JVC Everio GZ-MG465 and cannot get the two to talk, so it would seem that not all Everios will work with iMovie 09.

Okay, so I discovered that my husband’s Mac (same configuration) could locate the JVC Everio GZ-MG465! We worked out that I had set up iPhoto to recognise when a camera was attached, which was causing problems with iMovie. Once we stopped iPhoto from opening when a camera was detected (in preferences), iMovie found the camera and could see the movies.

However, as I’d already copied all the MOD files to my computer desktop from the camera, my husband deleted these in the camera. Now ... iMovie doesn’t want to recognise the files as being capable of being imported ... despite them being seen in the iMovie window earlier!

Trying to solve this problem now!

I have an everio as well, and just to clarify, it works perfectly with the very new iMovie 09 and NOT iMovie 08.
