i have got sony mp4 from china i am not able to record sound and the small cd is showing error and not able to instal program for movie conversion

i have had amp4 player for less than a week. for 2 or 3 days, it worked fine. now, i can get it to start but i can’t get into any of the functions. thhia player has music, photos, games e-book voice, setup, etc...
please let me know if there is anything i can do

I just bought a Sony mp4 player with a 1G capacity. I got no problem playing music (mp3 or wma). The only problem I have is that I converted a .dat file to .amv file using an amv converter but the file doesnt play in my player. Can anyone help me in identifying the problem? Please I have been wasting my time just to try to convert to different format, e.g. avi, mp4, etc, and I copied them to the player but once there the player couldnt play them. Please help me, thanks.

By the way, my Sony mp4 1G player comes with preloaded videos and they are all in .avi format. I tried converting a file to avi but my player says wrong format. Should I identify what kind of audio and video compression was used to make the avi file? Please help me, thanks.

i think mp4 players stink they are hard to opperate amd im lost i bought a 10 gb and it only holds 21 songs and NO movies!
