Some of you have memory hacked players see http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-removing-memory-hack-vt2400.html
Formatting the player will not erase operating files. Those are stored on a chip as firmware.
A normal format will not remove a memory hack.
Do not try to upgrade the firmware!
Some connection problems can be caused by using a usb hub. Try a different usb port. XP needs no drivers, 98 does. On /Off switch needs to be on.

I had to download MP3 utilities 3.5 or 4.00 from a folder called setup. (look in the driver files) I have win xp 2pk. So now it downloads music no problem. I go to windows media, select sync from the dropdown menu and it’s pretty straightforward. I downloaded a free amv converter and now I can convert my movie files but I am at a loss at how to actually get it on to my mp4 player :(
I also don’t understand how to use the menu. I can get it on eg: music, but then after ive played a song, I cant remove it from music and go to eg radio, without turning it off.
Hello I have a new MP4 player that I got a couple weeks after Christmas. I got it off of Ebay from Hong Kong also. I downloaded some of my music off my computer and it worked fine the first night but when I tried to play it the next day it read “disk error." I have tried to follow the instructions listed on this site, but when I try to select format, the hourglass mouse pops up. I have waited for this hourglass to disappear, but it won’t go away. Please Help!
Hello this is Katie again, just wanted to say that the advice given is correct... my MP4 player is now working! If a problem does occur that it won’t let you format, plug it into a different port, that is how I got mine to work. Turns out my 2nd port just wasn’t fast enough so, thank you for all your help and support! BTW, do you think we all got our players from the same guy? hmm...

P.S. I do have an account on here but don’t know how to activate it, please email me!

If anyone finds a way to overcome this problem a reply would be much appreciated
Hey guys Mom gave me an idea. It was to ask you if any of you guys had the same problem as me. if so could the problem be that you are using the wrong USB cord as i have had MP3 players before and can’t tell which cord is which. Please reply.
