my mp4 player

I have a junk mp4 player too. It worked for 1 day. Now, no matter what I do, it won’t charge. It comes on so I don’t believe it’s the battery however, every time I do get to the menu and try to do something, a picture of a battery comes up with a big red X through it and it says bye bye to me and shuts off. Is it junk or am I doing something wrong? reply

hi, i just bought one of these crappy players off ebay too...also from hong kong. it worked really well for like the first day...XP plicked it up...i put my music on it...the disk space was right...basically none of the problems that u lot have had.
Then when i went to play it the next day, every time i clicked on 'music', 'movies', or 'record'...it said i had a DISK ERROR. so i checked the memory status and it said there was nothing on it, then i thought id just sync it again but then my computer isnt picking it up.
Iv no idea what to do!!!
somone please help!!! =S

With regards to the item that is showing disc error, please connect it to your pc and switch it on. Please then go into My Computer and the player will be recognised as a removable device. Right click on this icon, select format and then Quick Format. This will erase al the data a
nd then allow you to add fresh data.

would it not format the files that are needed 2 run the player?

, no as mine was not working at all so i contacted my seller on ebay and followed the instructions he gave me, i did have some doubts after reading this forum but i had nothing to lose, all i lost were the music files i had already loaded. also my mp4 was showing no memory at all before so it corrected everything, now it is loaded back up and has been running fine since. reply

I received an mp4 player from ebay for Christmas. It’s 4GB, and looks exactly like the Nano iPod. It’s one of those ones that the instruction manual was poorly translated from Chinese. The major problem is this:

#1 I don’t know how to charge it. I plugged it into the outlet in the wall for an entire night, then the next day it was dead. reply

with regard?

You don’t understand the problem.

The player is off. I plug it in. I turn it on. You say XP will recognize it, BUT in reality XP says the device has malfunctioned and then it does not appear in My Computer.

That is the problem and there is no solution yet. Once you get the “malfunctioned” message, XP does nothing. reply
