ok...i figured it out!

Ok, here is for the people who get sound problems:

You need to use version 3.01 of the software! The one 'burningcold' give me works a treat! you need to get rid of the one installed on ur PC (v3.06) and install the version 3.01.

If you want the file, download MSN and add me!

------

For burningcold, I dont see why the video is not good with yours. Maybe if I send you a video which I converted with my old software ad the new software. You can then see if there is a problem. It could be that you are missing some video codecs.

But thanks for finding this forum and giving me your version!

Thanks greatly!

ya I tried your version you all have and it works great for my picture but the sound is bad like everyone says,... with my converter the video is bad, and I know it’s not becaues of my codecs because I see a picture it is just covered in green dots everywhere and the screen goes black ever second of so, if any of you have any other ideas why it won’t work please tell me any suggestions reply

hey guys

Here is the link for those who wish to obtain version 3.01 (the one that fixes sound)

http://home.ripway.com/2005-2/255105/AdfuUpdate.zip

**Copy and paste into your address bar and it should ask you to save, I think I have a 50mb daily limit**

------

I figured that you cannot convert files which are quite long in length as the sound is quicker than the video so it lags and is out of place.

Maybe I will have to use 64 kbs instead of 128kbs for the sound, will have to experiment later.

------

@burningcold:

Hm...im really having a hard time figuring yours as its opposite to ours, lol. Maybe you can try your software on a diff PC and convert there and test. It could be that your PC is missing something. Here I will host a file I have converted with YOUR version, download it to see if it works on your player:

File size = 1.77mb

http://home.ripway.com/2005-2/255105/asian2.zip

**The file is only 20 seconds cause the MTV file takes up too much space! lol**

-----

If any one finds out anything new, post here ^^

Hey,

Glad it worked! :)

Here is the link for the codecs, its a rather big file (Approx: 50mb)

http://www.free-codecs.com/ACE_Mega_CoDecS_Pack_download.htm

**Note: When installing the codecs, I ticked every single box so it installed every codec avalible!, lol. Readn what the codecs are first tho**

Thanks mate, hope that helps!

Hey

I will try to figure out the *.avi problem ur getting. In the meanwhile you might wanna use another converter for your *.avi and convert them to the format that works.

ya that is what I"m going to do,... oh ya I found something else out that people might want to know, the converter doesn’t seem to work that well at all with windows me, you get the best results if you have one of the nt based os’s reply

It works fine with Windows XP but I guess Windows XP was designed for easiness of use...I mean it can detect and install drivers auto, etc. It already comes with a load of settings you might come in contact with already...so the best version of Windows would be XP.

But I must admit...I am enjoying my MP4 player now, lol...shame how the converted files are almost 4-5 times bigger than the orginal! And long length files seem to be bad as the video lags to the sound :(

download the codecs...the link is on here sumwhere. You also need DirectX 9 and Windows Media Player 9.

Download links to 3.01 are on this forum. Please read and use the links. There is a 10mb daily limit so you might have to wait till the next day to get it.
