MP3/MP4 Wilson Co. Ltd (Version 9.0.50)

Ok peeps, seems these mp3/mp4 players are not what they seem, for a start there not 8 gig, only 1 gig with memory hack, if you got via ebay etc, demand your money back or someone report them before they make more money out of us

i c alot of ppl haveing trouble with putting music on mp3 players and getting corrupt data and format errors.

alot of mp3/mp4 players comming out of hong-kong/china have a memory hack, they make the available space look bigger than what it is.

with the disc that came with ur players, use the mp3 utilities disk manager tool to detect and format the player.

the other trick is that they will say its a 4gb player. u think is a 4 Giga-BYTE player when in actual fact its a 4 Giga-BIT player (both have the Gb abbreviation).

there is 8 BITs to a BYTE.
so a 4Giga-bit player = 512 Gigabyte.
8 gigabit = 1 Giga-byte.
etc

If u have formatted and found it is a much smaller player and want to get the “lost space” back. u cant. you cant recover what wasnt there to begin with.

get ur money back if possible, and report a bad seler if from ebay.

I also need firmware 9.0.50. My mp4 player (4 gig) worked 2 days. Now I can listen to the radio and listen to the songs I put on it. But when I connect it to my computer, nothing happens. He doesn’t recognise him anymore.

I gave the site to download the firmware. V9.0.48 & V9.0.50 & 9.1.05. Go and download it you can not expect people to do everything for you.

Hi All. As mentioned by Kope007 these players have been HACKED! Go to the mympxplayer.com Web site and look for the formating flash drive guide.

YOU CAN NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM AND MAGICALLY INCREASE THE MEMORY!! If you can only copy 240Mb of music then you only have a 256Mb flash drive. The ONLY solution is to format the drive. This will make the player more stable but WILL NOT INCREASE the memory.

To explain, imagine you have a 20 page lever arch file. (This represents 256Mb) If you try and insert 100 pages (Representing 2Gb)including the Index page, you will only be able to insert the first 20 pages. The other 80 pages will fall on the floor.

If you then open the lever arch file and look at the index and want the info on page 80 as shown by the index, it will not be in the file but on the floor.

This explaination shows that even though you copied 2Gb of files on the player and when you look for the file you will see it. The problem comes when you try and play the file because it will be “on the floor”

It is on the site as Download number 31 Glacier 2’screen firmware download. You get 4 firmware versions in one Download.

On this site. If you are not able to download it for yourself you most likely will not be able to upgrade your firmware so there is no point in anyone sending you the firmware.

Looks like I will join this list of Wilson Co Ltd MP3/4 players which does not work.

It wont allow me to open the movies folder. erro message ' disk empty'

Where do we get a firmware upgrade ?
