Memorex MP3 error message

Having the same problem. After upgrading the firmware the player won’t turn on, and the computer won’t recognize it. Anyone with the same problem? Or maybe a solution?

I thought that sth was wrong w/ the card (256MB). I replaced it for a new one but the message error appears over and over again. I can t find any download software on the Memorex site.

Mr. T. I have mmp3642a digital audio player installed and would like to roll back the firmware to the original. I have the cd but no matter what approach I take the firmware remains the same. Please clarify the steps needed to change the firmware. Run setup.exe with the program already installed? With the player connected or not connected? While holding the start/power button? In recovery mode? (Which I do know how to access.)

I have a MPP 8575 player and has the same trouble
i formated it from wmp11 and the error vanished, i tried lot’s of times from the win explorer & doesn’t work but with the wmp11 in te sync menu format i were capable of using it again try it! ^^!

You may want to try reloading the firmware (and clearing the data folder). This worked for me.

If you choose the clear data option, you will lose all information on the device. Do not interrupt the process or you may brick your player.

I just won a model MMP3642A in an arcade here in Japan; I went out today and picked up a 1gig SD card for it. After setting here for a half an hour getting no where, I googled this thread. Did any one ever figure out a way to make one of these work with a larger card? I guess there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

I got a Memorex MMP8640 and each time I try to turn it on, it says “Boot Error, Shutting Down” or “Media Full, Shutting Down” and I barely have anything on there. Please help.

I have the same problem with an MP3 player that looks exactly like Memorex MMP3642 but it is a “Genie MP 128” (www.genie-online.de should, but does not contain anything about it) with Sigmatel STMP3410 chip. When I try to use 2Gigs SD card it says the same error about sigmatel formatter. But the formatter does not recognize the card nevertheless it is opened in Explorer and I can drop files in it. The card is formatted in a card reader as FAT16 and the CD-method also did not helped. Also, tryed to upgrade the firmware with these of the Memorex devices, but they does not find the device. Any other ideas?

MMP3642A............FPOS!!!!!! Repeat !!! FPOS!!!!!!!!!...For those of you who don’t know what that means ------- piece of ----! tried everything on this forum and then some to even get a 128 mb sd card to work, 7 cups of coffee and 3 1/2 hours later i was still had no luck. so if you are one of the unfortunate suckers to be lulled by the expandable memory feature into purchasing this FPOS, my sincere condolences to you and yours.

i got a idea. i have the same problem as all of u. my memorex mp3 froze and now i cant do anything on it. here is wat i think we should all do. DON’T BUY ANY MEMOREX ITEMS.

I have a Memorex 4gb SD Card. Unfortunately I left it in my Card Reader slot, in the Computer, used McAfee to clean the harddrive, and now have a “Disc Error” when I try to use it in my camera. Is there any way I can get the Memory Card back to its original state , please? Thanks, Flynn
