So I bought this supposedly 8GB MP4 player cheap off some internet auctions site as new, not eBay, but a local one. I got it ridiculously cheap but quickly discovered problems. However, I didn’t bother to register a complaint afterwards, since I paid quite what it was worth anyway. It does not look like a fake iPod, it is quite different from the outside.
I was wondering if anyone familiar with this ChiPod could give me advice to fix a little problem left with it.
Yes, I DO know it’s hacked, I reformatted the drive (which didn’t give me 2 partitions at all) and got about 1,9 GB memory in return, which was quite enough for me considering the possibilities. The memory is not yet dead, I think, as well.
The first problem is, that the player tends to turn off itself, when it has been turned on for a while. Just randomly turns off, although the battery should be full.
The second problem is, when I try to play a song, it sometimes stops in the middle of a song, displays the “Connect” screen (although the player IS NOT connected to any other devices besides the headphones) and just stays like that. Usually problem no. 1 follows. 
So, any advice? (Besides telling me how I should sue the person I bought it from or how I was just plain stupid not to buy an original iPod. I didn’t want an iPod, I just wanted a cheap MP3 player with at least 2GB of memory and different functionalities.)

if your mp3 player not connect, make following....restart your computer and go into the bios (for example: if pc starts, press del, f2...)into the bios menu you can deactivate “usb 2.0”...after deactivating, the mp3-player works fine :-) it’s only compatible to usb 1.1....if you have an old computer, like pentium II 266mhz with usb, the mp3 player will connect without any problems if you run winXP (very slowly then^^)
