I purchased this device for my 12 year old son for Christmas. We down loaded the software and thought we were on our way to transfering media from my computer to the device....Wrong....all it does when I attach it to the USB and turn it on is give me the symbol of sleep, and then turns off. I have looked everywhere for some sort of software update and as of yet have been unable to locate anything...Can someone please help!!! reply

I just got one of those players also they are a bit tricky to set up. When you attach it to your computer it should show up as a Removable disk drive. I then copied about 30 mp3 files to the new removable disk drive that showed up. I then converted the second season of Lost from .avi to .amv using the following settings:
128x128 size
High frame rate
High Image quality
Mode 1 Image focus(not sure about this setting)
each show converted to about 75megs. reply

I’ve downlaoded several WMA files but they won’t play at all. Voice recordings work but that’s it. I will probably take this back as well.

It’s possible that that wma files you are downloading have drm in them, in which case very few players will play them. Try ripping you own cd’s int the wma format and see if that works reply

Just bought one yesterday in my home town of Cobourg,Ontario,Canada. I payed $49.99 for the
1GB model with LCD screen.

Easy to load up songs haven’t tried anything other than voice record also easy.

When you plug the mp3 Player in it will appear as as a removable disk. I added a folder called Music
(what else). Using Windows Media after loading a CD hit the BURN tab and wait till all tracks are
burned(burnt?) and the use the SYNC tab and direct the syncing to the removable disk.

That’s all folks reply

Help, my son got one of these players a few weeks ago and I have not been able to get it to work yet. The computer see that something has been plugged in, however it is unable to identify it. Does anyone have a driver that works for this thing. I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition. reply

My boyfriend got one of these mp3 players and he put songs on it then i stole it from him (without the instructions) and i found it very easy to use. When you plug the player into your computer, open the removable drive that comes up. You can add a file and name it whatever you want. Open said file. You’ll want to have the folder that you put your music in open as well. Select the songs you want to put on the player and drag them to the file that you created in the “removable disk drive." Unplug the player from the computer. Turn it on and wait for it to get to the options. Press the Menu button to select the Music option. It’ll go to the music player and you’ll want to press Menu again if it says Root under the time. It’s pretty easy from there. Have fun! reply

i hav one and i can teach you how to use it:
1.buy a new usb mini because the one they gave u is broke.
2.for amv converters go on the internet and google ,amv converter 4.00 download, download what u can find but only 4.00 not 3.something or 4.05 only 4.00
3.converting it u have to put in the settings for the screen sixe the smallest u see and convert one at a time not a whole bunch at one time
4.adding music u only can hav wma or mp3 only and just copy and paste the music when u see an extra drive in “my computer”
5.wen u plug in the usb mini have the mp3 player on and u should see a picture of a camera and a computer(one on each side)
Note: amv converts dont work all the time so play it before u put it on make sure there is sound and no freezes
I hope this helps! reply
