FM radio on MP 4 player does not work

Hi purchased a 2 GB MP4 player. Everything works as per expectations, but the FM radio does not starts. There is a scrathcing sound when I put on the FM radio, but it is not able to detect an FM stations..

Has anyone come across this issue....If so plzzz help

Try to check the FM band mode.
On my player it will be found
FM mode - click[Menu]
