WMV License

I recently download a film with WMV extension. I have Media Player 10 installed. but when open this film media player says it required license to open this file. However it acquired license from Microsoft site even then it do not play the movie. Can any one tell me how to by pass the license acquiring or it is some other problem

The license worked, but I bet money the file was a trash file to make you install the license and veiw their ads/install a virus/etc

i download all my movies and they do the same thing it’s really starting to piss me off any suggestions?
