video editing software anyone?

Can anyone recomend some software to do some good video effects.

Simular to the ones on windows movie maker? but better..

any of the Roxio products such as MYDVD 8, Record now premier 8 or Easy Media Creator 9.

All are good programs and offer great editing options.
