Video capture from Sony Handycam to Movie Maker

I’m trying to get video that I have on my Handycam to my moviemaker. I don’t know if how old the program is matters but it came with my computer which is about 4-5 years old.

It says “No video device connected. Please ensure that a video device is properly connected and turned on”

I can get it on the program that comes with the camera but if I try to get those files on there it says “Too many interfaces to fire events from”

Same with AVI files but I can take care of that myself. I just need some help with how to get stuffs from my camcorder to Movie maker. Gracias

Hi all, cannot answer your question as I have one of my own with similar probs.

I have a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD106E, 1 year old. I have a fairly new version of Vista Movie Maker, 1 year old, but when I try and download videos from the Handy cam the reply is “Import Video coiuld not find a suitable digital video device”.
Also when I download from the handycam using another video browser and import into Movie Maker I get the picture but no sound, any ideas?

I have the same problem only I get sound and no picture!
