This message may be displayed together with the message “CRC failed in file name. The file is corrupt” and may help to detect exactly which volume is corrupt. If a big file is split between a few volumes and only one volume has been damaged after archive creation.
Depending on corrupt archive details, RAR may display or skip this message. The message “CRC failed in file name. The file is corrupt” is always displayed if the file
data are damaged.
I’m havin same prob like u... but I get the same message all the time. I cant setup any software, accept few ( fortunately, programs that I realy NEED). Seems that problem is in Hadrware, could be a RAM or HDD or Motherboard... DVD or CD roms r not, because I chnged them all month ago. I also chnged WINZIPs WINRARs legal i illegal :S
Have teh same problem here, and my PC is like 2 weeks old and it just keeps throwing error “CRC filed in file name”. I don’t know what to do on my old PC it worked fine and I newer had that kind of problems.
any suggestions ?
This may help
Basically their is a option to keep broken files on the extract two tab. While you may have error come up the resulting files still work. Works for me.
Even i faced the same problem when extracting files from a downloaded winrar file.I re-installed winrar and the files too,but it didn’t work for me..
It worked when i downloaded the same file using “Mozilla Firefox”.But make sure that there won’t be any other programme running on your PC while downloading the winrar file.It definitely works.....if not then it’s up to your fate!!
Ok, so I’ve been battling this problem for the last month or so, and tried everything. I’ve used nearly 10 different apps for extracting, all would give me packed data CRC errors. Sure, you can hit the “Keep Broken Files”...but they are just that...broken. I had tried other computers on my same ethernet connection, and they didn’t have the problem. So I knew it was my own computer.
So the final solution for me was BIOS UPDATE! I thought for sure I had done this in the past, but I guess I was wrong.
Check Your Manufacturer’s website for a BIOS update!
I Bet it’ll fix your problem.
That error may also come up when you haven’t simply downloaded the torrent to 100% Keep the files in the same directory and start torrent download again adn torrent client will count how much is left if it so.. at least utorrent does it.
