sadWhen I tried to play some Divx files there was no sound. I ran the files through GSpot who told me I needed AC3Codecs. I installed these, but still no sound. When I ran them through GSpot again, it says that I have the necessary codecs and that it should play. What do I do now? Can anyone please help me?

Where did you get the AC3codec from? (it’s really a directshow decoding filter).

Did you try turning your volume up a lot? This usually helps because the volume is usually quite low in AC3 encodings.

Which media player are you using?

Thanks for the reply. First of all, i tried in all different players. most just gave error warnings and wouldn’t play the files at all. now i’m using windows media player. wmp said that there was an error downloading the code and then played the file without sound.
i downloaded the AC3Codec from this sight. do you have any idea what i’m doing wrong?

Try reinstalling the AC3Filter from here:
http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/

What are GSpot’s details about the file?

Re-installing the ac3filter from http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/ did the trick for me! Thank you much!
