newbie needs help with torrent and playing AVI.

okay, so I am new to this whole thing so please humor me a bit.
I downloaded a movie using BitTorrent. When the download was complete, I had a compressed folder, I unzipped it, and I now have a folder with a huge amount of files all called the movie name. Are these all different pieces of the movie?
How do I get them to all play together? How do I know which one to chose to play the movie?

I have opened one of the files in a couple different types of players(real,quicktime, all in one) , and I get sound for the movie but no picture.

I appreciate any help anyone can give me.
