mpeg problem

hey, i have a few mpeg files that when played they pause about 20 seconds in and stop. For example, one file i ahve is about 17mb and goes fore over 3 minutes, but it only lasts for 23seconds in media player and winamp. what do i need to do to fix this? is it fixable?

I’m having the same problem. Mine started when I installed codec packs, I believe. The only way I have found around it is to recompress the file with the program Tmpg. It increases the file size, but makes the whole thing playable.
