Mpeg-2 HELP!!

Ive got some mpeg files which use mpeg-2. I downloded something called stinkys mpeg 2 and tried others. The files play but not in the same time to the sound. If i try looking at it in virtual dub, it plays fine, but i was wondering is there any codec or anyway of making it work fine in media player or any other player, i really dunno what to do

Are you certain the file is mpeg-2? If I recall correctly VirtualDub doesn’t support mpeg-2.
I would use a tool like avicodec or videoinspector to verify that.

If it does turn out to be an mpeg-2, you can use videolan or media player classic to play it back (recommended). For playback in Windows Media Player you would need dvd software or the elecard mpeg-2 decoder (not free anymore).
