I need some help here! When ever I try to play an AVI or XVid file, my Windows Media Player 11 gives me the “Has encountered an error & must close” notice. This is very frustrating! Is there anything that can be done? For some reason I cant even restore my computer to an earlier date!
I’ve downloaded the files thru a bit torrent, they were from aXXo, the files used to work great, then all of a sudden I can’t open / access the files?
Yes, thanx a lot dude Morgu, ffdshow really works now for playing all types of avi files in my wmp11,...but for the link u gave does not work,..so i got it from www.softpedia.com n installed it.
Once again thanx a lot.
What if Windows Media Player won’t play AVI files- Solutions:
1. Install AVI codec to play AVI files
2. Play AVI videos in Windows with VLC
3. Convert AVI to Window Media Player friendly video formats with Brorsoft Video Converter or Handbrake.
