Is it just me, or is the Matroska main site down? I downloaded my first .mkv file evar last night, and Its taken me this long just to get the Matroska full pack, had to download it from a foreign site I couldn’t really understand what the words meant, but the lay out was common.

I got visual now, I can see my video, but I have no sound. When I try to play the file I get two prompts to look for codecs, and one of them fails. I’m wonderin if its cause of any trouble at the home site. If its not, or even if it is, is there anything I can do on my end to fix the sound?

I don’t know when you attempted to get to www.matroska.org, but it seems on now. As for missing codecs in mkv files, I suggest using VideoInspector http://www.kcsoftwares.com/index.php?vtb

I guess its just me, the home page for matroska still won’t open on my end. Even still, I sort of got it working.

I can’t get my .mks to play in windows media, but they work in Zoom. Any idea if the zoom trial version will keep working after the time is up, like winzip or getright, or will I need to purchase it?

If you’re looking for an alternate player for mkv just use Media Player Classic (www.gabest.org - follow the links) or VideoLan (www.videolan.org). They’re free.
