Whenever I download a file the save as type box (below where the name of the file is typed) is blank and if I try and select something only a blank box pops up. It only sometimes recognizes the type of file anyway once its downloaded. Or in the case of a Flash video file, for example, it adds flv to the end of the file name. Good right? Noooo! its adds flv without a period. So I have to go back and rename the file by adding the period before the flv extension. Once I do that it works. Thought before I discovered this glitch, I downloaded a ton of various material from some websites and now when I go back to those files there is only a blank page icon next to each one and clicking on them produces an error message saying it is an unknown file type and that I need to select what program I want the computer to open the file with. At this point I don’t remember what kind of file extension it was...a video? a PDF?
I’m going to move this to the “general” section of the main forum. I think you’d get better answers there as the topics are more technical in nature.
