ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum 5: VIDEO_TS\Title_01_01.avi could not be imported

I want to edit an avi. file on movie maker. I’ve used ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum 5 to change a DVD into an avi. file, but this is what it tells me.

VIDEO_TS\Title_01_01.avi could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box.

What does this mean? And how do I solve this problem?

Also, are you able to play said file. If so, what player do you use to play it?
