How to rename files from Everio HD Camera

Hi I have a JVC Everio GZ-HD320BAA Camera and I can’t rename the files from the default file names that they are recorded as. I have approx 300 files on the Camera’s Hard Drive so when I copy them to my PC all the files are numbered, which makes it very diificult to know what the file is about. Do I have to watch and rename every individual file?

i don’t see how else you’d do it. how would you know the contents of a file without at least opening it?
