I’m wondering how long does it take to burn a 2 hours movie on DVD, I got a 16x Dual Layer -/+ DVD Writer, P4 @ 3.06 GHz and I’m using a 4x Disk, Single layer disk.

If you want to send me your computer I can probably cut that time in half. Box it up and put it in your front yard, and I’ll send a UPS driver to get it. What’s your address?

I have a 1.83 turin x2 with a gig of ram. A dvd+/-r takes about 10-15 minutes, usually less however a dvd+r dl is a whole new ball game... close to 2 hours!

I was curious and found this.
I was shocked at the first response.

amazing how much things have developed.

I guess my only concern right now is the format convention.

I’ve been having this problem. I have a Sony Vaio notebook that’s only just over a year old. I’ve been trying to burn a movie to dvd and I started it last night at about 8.30pm, it’s now 9.30am and it’s at 27.6%. It’s taking the mick. I don’t know how to make it go faster. And my Sony is model VGN-NR21J/S for those that would like to check the specs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Babs and anyone trying to convert TO DVD, get ConvertXtoDVD

It will save some time....

Also, DVD5 burning should take about 15 to 30 minutes by today’s standards.

DVD9 burning should take about double that, by logic.

The slower the speed, the better the recording, and the longer the time.

So, a 2x DVD9 should take about an hour to burn.
