How do I play a CUE and DAA movie file I downloaded from bit.torrent?

Ok, so I just downloaded these movie files (totally legal) and there DAA and it has a blank icon, and everytime I click on it, it asks me what type of program I want to use to open it. Seeming as it should be a movie, I opened all my media players, and nothing works. I downloaded an ISO program, and all that plays is the audio!! Innoying! So...if someone could help me out and tell me how to play these files...that would be very helpfull. (P.S. I’m prolly gonna be downloading many more movies, so, I need to know how to play them, same with games...should I be able to just up and play them when there done downloading?)These are the kinds of questions I canr believe arent on the bit.torrent FAQS. P.S!! These downloads are totally legal btw!! reply

Ok is good to hear that your download is legal. Anyway a DAA extension is a iso file and if you have a cue besides is ready for burning here is link to check any file extension :http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=DAA Look for burning image on your burning software point to cue file and is going to burn your image. Cue comes in pair with bin and is just a directory so don’t try to play it.
If you don’t want to burn the file go to this site and download some stuff in order to play the bin or iso. http://www.free-codecs.com/ Start with a codecs collection: All in One pack, XP Pack, Xvid, DivX and for sound AC3 filter is a must to have it. Also a good player is VLC or Media Player Classic both play iso or bin file and use their own codecs. If you have an avi file sometimes and won’t play on your computer from the same site you can download tools like GSpot and Avicodec and open the avi with one of them and is going to tell you what codecs you may need in order to play the file. From avi file if you have a video converter you can convert it in dvd format and burn it. Most of the download are freewares but the video converter is not. Any trial you may try is a limit on convertion time or file size and also watermark your file. You may check on this site some downloads for whatever you want, Bjarne is going to be happy to stay on this site longer. reply

If you use a torrent client for downloading your video, than you should run a torrent search for poweriso or go to

How to burn bin/cue with Nero, Includes how to set overburn preferences
First step is to make sure that your using Nero 6..6 or Nero 7 if not then you will have to updgrade to these versions before continuing with this guide
Go to start, all programs, Nero and open your Nero Burning Rom and you should be faced with this below

Now click Cancel then click the File tab then Options (preferences if you are using Nero 6.6)

Click the Expert Features tab then tick Enable Disc-at-once CD Overburning and change

the time to 84 mins. Also tick Enable generation of short lead out if you have that option

Click apply then click ok, jobs done ;)

Now onto burning the actual bin/cue files that you have to CD-R

Locate the folder where your downloaded KVCD is then right click with your mouse on the cue file and chose Open With

If you dont have the option like you see on the screenshot to chose Nero then you have to click Choose Program
If you are using v7 then you have to Click the browse button and go to the Nero/Nero 7/Core folder in your program files

Nero 6 users have to Click the browse button and go to the Ahead/Nero folder in your program files

Click on the Open button after that Nero should open up and all you have to do now is pick your burn speed which should be no more than 8x

Note: Also in future when your right click on a cue file the option should be there to open it with Nero so you dont have to go through all that again

.DAA is a format from PowerIso.com, not used by any other programs for making virual disks. they got a free converter to .iso format for Linux.

Other than PowerIso getting rich from people who want to open the .DAA files, its no reason to make or buy the PowerIso program.
- there is better programs, both for creating spanned archives, and for compressing the files. reply

Sand man, Achira, FM - 2001,

Use Poweriso to burn the image file (.daa) It will convert it and then burn the files for you, leaving a converted image (.iso) where ever you tell it.

Poweriso can also create virtual drives, for those who want the disc in the computer for a while, like they wanted to watch or INSTALL something.

ninjatamer,
If you haven’t already please open My Computer, select Tools - Folder Options - View:

Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.

Or post the file’s extension to get more feedback on what you can use to open the file type.

dileep,
Not that anyone knows of. If you’re using illegal methods to find media you can obviously use it to find computer programs. reply
