Find out which codecs you need in order to playback a given file

i have a hideous new problem

for the last 2 weeks i cant play wmv files anymore

this problem is bizare
obviously i downloaded something that has messed with my codecs

little help with burning here, i CAN burn the movies but i see the cpu load, frame rate ,input and output on the screen, how do i remove this

i have a XVID-TLF file and i cant play it on any thing i tried it on VLC,WMP11,DIVX and quick time it all dont work please help

i’m currently dl’ing a .avi file but it wont play properly on any device i currently have (quicktime, WMP, realplayer, DivX) it says it may be corrupt but this has happened with every single other movie file i have tried to download in the past for a while now, only certain movies seem to be exempt, any help would be appreciated (like avi codecs and how to install properly...)

they are torrent files usually (sometimes limewire)
none seem to work and i wonder if it is my computer or the files themselves.

I am not able to play / See an video file in my Mp4 player. can suggest me any software to add to this..

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I know how it is to want to stay ahead o the game but restraint iss the key word here. If it works leave it alone. If you get a movie occassionanally that doesn’t work, so what ! Just delete it. Joe S.

i downloaded a VLC media file (.avi) from the internet but when i tried to play it using media player or cyberlink dvd, it won’t work properly. no images, only sound. why? do i need some other program to play this file??? please help!!!

i use vlc player 2 play movies but there is no sound wen i try and play a bin file

Hey i downloaded a movie form isohunt. After the download, i opened the file & it’s shows an alert message as “File Corrupted”. In Gom-Player it shows as Codec Missing. If i search it, it shows as Invalid Codec. Is there anyone to help me out for this..
