Hi,

I keep getting two pop-up error messages when I start up my computer. They can be clicked away and everything seems to be working well, but still: very annoying. The first message reads:

— — — — — — —
Unrecognized command switch(es) found in command line string:

C:\Program Files\K-Lite Codec Pack\Media Player Classic\mplayerc.exe /runevent C:\Program Files\K-Lite Codec Pack\Real\Update_OB\upgr3270.dll
AutoUpdateEvent

Usage: mplayerc.exe “pathname” [switches]

{this is followed by a list of possible commands, e.g. /cd, /open, /shutdown etc. with their meanings, in which \runevent is not included.}
— — — — — — —

the second one is almost the same, only now it reads '\rnms3270.dll RNMsgAutocheck' instead of '\upgr3270.dll AutoUpdateEvent'.

what can i do about this? i installed the newest version of the codec pack but that didn’t help. any help is greatly appreciated.

Teun

Tnx for that link Jeremy. I too have a process realsched.exe running, but how do I prevent it from starting up again in the future? I run Windows XP. What do I need to do? I’m really bad with computers but any help is appreciated!

Yes, really annoying bug. I regret the day I let the Realplayer software touch my computer!

The trick listed here should help you disable realsched.exe

Yeah that did the trick!

I reinstalled RealPlayer (I’d deleted it; that’s when the trouble started), unchecked the 'check for updates' option as indicated in the help2go.com post above, and then deleted RealPlayer again. No more realsched.exe, and no more pop-ups!

Tnx for the help guys, I’ll be sure to return here when I encounter a new problem.

Suddenly, my sound stopped working on my PC (Windows XP)

I checked the wires, connections, volume, Device manager, etc. Absolutely Zero Errors found.
I had to install Creative SB Live! Series after K-light suggested it and that worked. My computer still says it’s there with no errors.

After some searching on Bing and then Google, I learn there’s a updated K-Light. Since it fixed the problem last time, I downloaded it and uninstalled all of the other codec programs it ask me to. All of which were attempts to fix the error.

But just link the older version, the new K-light says there are no sound errors to fix so it doesn’t give me the option to click on it. When I play a video, the player (regardless of the program) shows the audio visualizations clearly. I know they are working because I’ve watched these videos before and use visualizations as a back up for any possible errors (so I can see and hear them). I’ve tried multiple speakers, headsets, stereo systems, and not the first one will play sound. I even tried plugging into the “Audio IN” connection. All that did was give me loud static when I click play and stop when I hit pause/stop.

Please help?!?!?!?!
